Okay so I was really excited to see this movie when I first saw the trailer. Having close family friends who were part of the Tuskegee Airman was what also fueled my desire to see their story on the big screen, plus I love a good World War II movie.
First off, the movie was an ultimate fail on all parts. I felt that the dialogue was horrible and the editing was worse. There were several instances where the mouth of the actors said one thing, however, the dubbed over voice said something completely different.
The movie felt like it was filed in the 70s and 80s with no real advance in the special effects department either. You would think they could at least make the effects enjoyable.
I did not find my self caring at all for any of the characters, even the little love story they threw in there didn’t even peak my interest. This movie used all of the Hollywood story telling of World War II and didn’t really stick to what actually happened. Maybe if they said this story was very loosely based on the Red Tails I may have enjoyed it, but then again probably not. I would not see this movie again nor would I recommend it to anyone.
